The very accomplished rug hooker Barb Powell will be teaching an “Open Class.” She will help you with all aspects of your rug hooking; both fine shaded and primitive looks. Barb enjoys helping students with the design process, encouraging them to reach new levels in their hooking careers. In order for you to ‘get the most’ out of this class you need to come prepared. Barb will contact you prior to the retreat to help you with your design, color planning and any other “Pre-Hooking” challenges. Known for her rug hooking talent as well as her sense of humor, you will have a great time and learn something along the way.
An accredited McGown teacher, Barb is experienced in a variety of styles and cuts. Having hooked over 100 rugs during her fourteen year career, she prefers to design and color plan her own original designs. Her rugs have appeared in Celebration Magazine consecutively from 2018 to 2021. She has taught several workshops in both the U.S. and Canada.
