Sharon has been hooking for 30 years and is a McGown certified teacher and owner of Rose of Sharon Rugs. Her rug hooking journey has resulted in over 100 completed pieces in a variety of styles and subjects from animals, portraits, geometrics, shaded flowers and abstracts. While trained in all cuts and styles her personal favorite is shading without swatches in a 6 and 8 cut as well as geometrics and tessellations. She is known for her unusual color combinations and vibrant palette. Sharon has a patient way of pulling things out of her students that they didn't even know they had while making it feel easy.
Sharon's rugs have been featured in Celebrations as well as The Rug Hooking Bible (Shepherd), The Creative Hooker (Turbayne) and Hooked on Rugs (Turbayne).
When not traveling for her day job, Sharon enjoys being at home in Seattle with her kitty Sissy who works just as hard at unhooking rugs as Sharon does in creating them! Her beautiful creations can be seen on her website at RoseofSharonRugs.com
